Commonwealth Games Wrestling Gold Medalist Arjan Bhullar has been a professional athlete for nearly his entire life. He grew up wrestling, first learning the Indian Kushti style from his father, and later moved into Freestyle, going on to excel in the sport at every level. In addition to multiple provincial and national titles, he was a two-time champion while attending university, a gold medalist at the Commonwealth Games, and he also represented Canada at the 2012 London Olympics”,
Arjan Bhullar said, 'I started wrestling from a young age. I was part of the Canadian national team for five years in a row and became the champion in the 120 kg category from 2008 to 2012. I also won a bronze medal for Canada in the 120 kg category at the 2007 Pan American Games. After a wrestling career, when I made my UFC debut against Luis Enrigue Barbosa de Oliveira at UFC-215 and won, I think I am the first fighter of Indian origin to do so.
Indian-origin Canadian fighter Arjan Bhullar created history in 2021. Arjan became the first Indian-origin fighter to win a world title in a top-level Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) promotion. He defeated Brandon Vera to become the Heavyweight World Champion at the ONE Championship in Singapore. Arjan also stopped Vijay Rath in his five-year-old championship reign by defeating Vera.
On the occasion, Punjabi Singer, Harsimran, said,” that the child learns from his home such as Arjan's father trained Arjan in wrestling and today he is a good athlete in the world and he also said that I am also a gym enthusiast and I also get inspired by watching my punjabi brothers .
