Karandeep-Mississauga, ON – Four individuals are facing multiple charges after a routine traffic stop in Mississauga led to the discovery of illegal firearms.
On the morning of December 4, 2024, at around 4:00 a.m., officers from Peel Region's 12 Division pulled over a vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act investigation. During the stop, police discovered that the driver, 22-year-old Justin Salmon from Brampton, was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant and took him into custody.
Further investigation led officers to uncover two illegal handguns in the vehicle, one of which was loaded and hidden on a passenger. The firearms, a 9mm Glock 19 and a modified version capable of firing automatically, were seized. One of the guns was equipped with an extended magazine holding 30 rounds of ammunition.
The following individuals were arrested and charged:

- Driving without a license
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm
- Possession of prohibited ammunition

Adrian Gregory, 22, from Brampton:
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm

Kerrick Campbell-Reid, 23, from Ridgeway (Niagara):
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm
- Possession of prohibited ammunition

Benjamin Jaramillo, 22, from Thornhill:
- Occupant of a vehicle knowing it contained a firearm
None of the individuals had legal authorization to possess the firearms.
Peel Police Deputy Chief Marc Andrews praised the officers for their proactive work, saying, “This is a prime example of the importance of proactive police work and the impact it has on our community’s safety. Thanks to these patrol officers, two illegal firearms are off the streets and can no longer be used to harm anyone in our community.”
The individuals remain in custody and are awaiting a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
