Under the joint aegis of Save Earth Save Human and Samaj Sevak Foundation, a medical camp was organised in the slum area of Baltana, in which free medical checkup of women was done , they were made aware of diseases and free sanitary pads were distributed.

A blood donation camp was held at the Community Centre in Pabhat village, here today under the aegis of the Atharv Jan Kalyan Foundation. A total of 45 units of blood was collected, while 12 unit blood got rejected, at the camp by a medical team from the Govt Medical College & Hospital (GMCH-32) Chandigarh.    

The food safety wing Mohali alongwith a team from SDM office visited derrabassi and zirakpur and did inspection of sweet manufacturing units in lieu of the festival season. Team collected about 8 samples of various sweet items like dhoda barfi patisa dry fruit etc.

Indian Red Cross Society District Branch Mohali played an important role in the camp. The camp started at 10 in the morning and went on till 4 in the evening.

Chandigarh Press Club has condemned the brutal attack on its member Alok Verma, who works in Amar Ujala newspaper. Alok Verma was attacked in Zirakpur last night, when he was returning home after his duty hours.

 Zirakpur police arrested three people possessing 125 boxes of liquor. They got the lead and after rounding them up on the way, 3 were nabbed. The case is filed against them under the Excise Act and i investigation is started. The accused are taken on remand after presenting in Dera Bassi court.

India began firming up contingency plans including activating alternative air routes to evacuate its citizens from Ukraine with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) holding a series of high-level meetings to put into operation, sources said.
