Zirakpur : Zirakpur police arrested three people possessing 125 boxes of liquor. They got the lead and after rounding them up on the way, 3 were nabbed. The case is filed against them under the Excise Act and i investigation is started. The accused are taken on remand after presenting in Dera Bassi court.
Speaking about the investigation and case, SHO Inspector Onkar Singh Brar said that he got a tip about the UP registered truck coming from Chandigarh towards Zirakpur. After getting the lead, the police stopped this UP number register vehicle by putting barriers near Mc Donald's located at Zirakpur-Ambala highway. While checking they found 125 boxes of liquor which in the vehicle. Mattresses and packed items were kept in the truck by the accused to dodge the police. The investigation further revealed, they did not have liquor license any other permit. SHO, Zirakpur - Onkar Singh Brar said, he will be investigating the case further and once they get details from all 3 of them, the department will tell about the location from where this liquor come from and if it is anywhere in connection with UP elections.
