*Delhi/Chandigarh : The Aam Aadmi Party has once again supported the wrestling players sitting on a dharna demanding justice at Jantar Mantar. Haryana in-charge and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sushil Gupta reached Jantar Mantar among wrestling players on Monday. Supporting the demands of the wrestling players of the country and the state, he said that Delhi Police should register an FIR against former Federation President Braj Bhushan Sharan Singh with immediate effect. He said that it is the misfortune of the players that they have to approach the Supreme Court to register an FIR and demand justice.
He said that well-known players of the country and the state had made serious allegations of sexual exploitation against the former president of the Federation, Braj Bhushan Sharan Singh. Wrestling players were sitting at Jantar Mantar three months back regarding this. Then the Sports Ministry came under pressure and constituted an inquiry committee and removed the Federation President from the post. Now even after three months no report of the inquiry committee has been made public. He said that all the players are demanding registration of FIR against former Federation President Braj Bhushan Sharan Singh. The sportspersons protesting again at Jantar Mantar is a proof that the BJP government does not take any action against influential persons despite the serious allegations being leveled against them.
He said that wrestling players do the work of bringing medals for the country, they bring laurels to the country in the world. Their sitting at Jantar Mantar demanding justice shows that the BJP government is anti-women as well as anti-justice. The Supreme Court has also ordered that in serious allegations like sexual harassment, FIR is made on the basis of statement only. But, still FIR is not being registered against former Federation President Braj Bhushan Sharan Singh. Delhi Police is also under the pressure of Modi government.
Dr. Sushil Gupta said that Aam Aadmi Party is with the players. Standing with the players to get justice. The Aam Aadmi Party demands that the government take immediate action on the demand of all wrestling players and register an FIR against the accused.
He said that even in Haryana, minister Sandeep Singh remained in office despite allegations of sexual harassment. Till now the Chandigarh Police has not made the SIT report public. The victim junior coach has also pleaded for justice. Chief Minister Khattar has also openly said that he will not remove Minister Sandeep Singh from the post. He said that Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Khattar, who gave the slogan of save daughter and read daughter, are instigating those who commit crimes against women.
