Karandeep-Canada: Officers from the Community Incident Response Team (CIRT) at both 12 and 11 Division have launched a focused community safety initiative to address ongoing crime concerns in the Dundas/Hurontario Street area of Mississauga. The initiative comes in response to a range of complaints, primarily centered around the business plaza on the east side of Hurontario Street. Issues reported include trespassing, liquor violations, drug trafficking, and other criminal activities. Over the past year, two individuals have been stabbed in the area, and there was a reported incident in which a firearm was pointed at a citizen.

Since the beginning of 2024, local police have responded to more than 170 service calls related to the plaza and its vicinity.

  • Execution of 50 arrest warrants
  • 20 arrests under the Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA)
  • Issuance of 40 Liquor License Act and Trespass to Property Act Provincial Offence Notices
  • Execution of 2 Criminal Code search warrants
