Panchkula, 21 September,
Congress candidate from Panchkula constituency, Chander Mohan is surely and consistently racing ahead of his nearest rival and incumbent MLA Gian Chand Gupta of BJP. Today again he had an hectic itinerary as he addressed more than dozen meetings in the day and met scores of Panchkula residents. He started the day with a public meeting at sector 2 Panchkula. In a well attended meeting he reminded the people about those heady days of nineties when his late father and tallest Haryana leader Ch. Bhajan Lal pledged to make Panchkula, Paris of India. He told the gathering that with efforts of Ch. Bhajan Lal and later during his own tenure, that dream was well on its path of realisation, but things have taken a massive downturn ever since BJP has come to power.  As a worthy son of a great father it is my duty to fulfill his dreams, Chander Mohan said. Launching a scathing attack on his rival candidate Gian Chand Gupta, Chander Mohan said, “ Gupta ji, is a senior and experienced leader, but I am really sorry to say that he had failed miserably to address even the most basic needs of constituency. Residents of the city are clamouring for basic things like pucca roads and street lights”.

Chander Mohan lamented that BJP candidate has failed to come up to the aspirations of the people of this bold and vibrant city.

He reminded them, how they had chosen him not once but four times to represent them in Vidhan Sabha and also made him Deputy CM of the state.  “ It was your faith and love that made me to serve you with utmost sincerity and dedication and I assure you that you will not find me lacking this time also,”  Chander Mohan told the people.

He also talked about various projects and plan he intended to implement once elected. While talking about the promises made by his party in recently released manifesto, he said that all promises will be fulfilled at any cost. “My party had never made false promises like BJP.  Every woman will be given Rs 2000 and senior citizen, differently able and widow will be given enhanced pension as promised by Congress party. He said that unemployment is the biggest problem faced by Haryana but Congress has a plan ready to tackle this. More than 2 lakh vacancies will be filled once party assumes office. Drug menace was yet another malady he identified that is rising in the state. Nobody will dare to sell narcotics once congress comes to power, he thundered. Apart from attending a rally at Sector 2,  Chander Mohan also attended public meetings at Sector 15, 23, 12, and Madanpur Housing Board. He also attended rallies and meet the residents programs at Rana Farm House ITBP Kishanpura, Beed Ghaggar, Modern Food Street Sector 5 and MDC sector 4.
