Karandeep-Canada: In a recent announcement by the City of Brampton, a new library branch will be added to the revitalized Howden Recreation Centre. This new space will provide residents of southeast Brampton with a modern, multi-use hub for recreation, health, and learning. The project, part of the City’s Parks and Recreation Master Plan, aims to meet growing demands for library spaces, ensuring the community has access to essential resources, programs, and services. The Howden Recreation Centre will undergo major renovations, replacing the old facility with a new, 45,000-square-foot building featuring sustainable green energy systems, sports amenities, and a dedicated library branch. The development represents a strategic investment to enhance community life in Brampton.

“By adding a library to the Howden Recreation Centre, we're creating a dynamic hub for recreation, learning, and community building," said Mayor Patrick Brown.

“Projects like this are about putting residents first and encouraging healthy lifestyles,” added Regional Councillor Paul Vicente.

Councillor Rod Power, a local representative, emphasized, “People have asked for more modern spaces to meet their needs, and we're delivering with this revitalization.”

Rowena Santos, Regional Councillor, highlighted that this project isn’t just about upgrading a building, but investing in the well-being of Brampton residents.

“We’re meeting the growing demand for library spaces in Brampton," stated Navjit Kaur Brar, Regional Councillor.

Brampton Library’s CEO, Todd Kyle, also expressed enthusiasm, saying, “We look forward to building a modern, inclusive library branch that connects and serves the community.”

This new library branch will be a vital addition to Brampton’s growing community, with the city focused on expanding opportunities for learning, recreation, and connection.
