Mohali: Amity University Punjab proudly celebrated International Yoga Day on Friday, hosting a vibrant event dedicated to promoting a healthy lifestyle and enhancing well-being within our community and beyond. This year's theme, “Yoga for Self and Society”, emphasised the holistic benefits of yoga for physical, mental and emotional health.
The event featured Mr. Anil Verma, a distinguished yoga instructor, who led the attendees through various yoga practices. His expert guidance showcased the powerful benefits of yoga for both the mind and body, fostering a profound sense of peace, balance, and vitality. This celebration underscored our belief that by coming together, we can inspire a culture of health and wellness among our students, faculty, and staff.
In alignment with the International Yoga Day protocols, the event began with a warm-up session, followed by a series of yoga asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises) and a guided meditation session. These protocols ensured a comprehensive approach to the practice, catering to participants of all skill levels and promoting a deeper understanding of yoga's diverse benefits.
In addition to the yoga session, the event was enlivened by fun activities designed to engage students and reinforce the importance of a balanced, active lifestyle.
