KARANDEEP-JAN 5 2025: Chandigarh, January 5, 2025 – INSPIRE (Institution for Secretarial Practices & Development) organized an insightful seminar on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at the Community Centre in Sector 40, Chandigarh. The event focused on two key topics: “Role of the Secretary in the 21st Century” and “Basics of Indian Economy,” and attracted a large turnout of members from the Tricity region.
The seminar featured two distinguished guest speakers. Dr. Nayanika Singh, Psychologist & Behavioral Trainer, kicked off the session by elaborating on the evolving role of a secretary in today's fast-paced, technology-driven world. Drawing from historical figures such as Sir Isaac Pitman, the pioneer of shorthand, Dr. Singh engaged with the attendees, addressing their queries and providing valuable insights into the changing dynamics of secretarial practices.
Following this, Mr. Shivdev Singh, Director & Head – Economics Research at CII, Northern Region, took the stage to discuss the fundamentals of the Indian economy. His presentation provided an in-depth analysis of the latest developments and trends shaping the nation’s economic landscape. Mr. Singh emphasized the importance of shifting focus from the traditional growth metrics to the Happiness Index, urging the audience to consider factors beyond mere economic size when evaluating a country's progress.
In a session filled with practical advice, Mr. Singh also cautioned members about the volatility of the equity market and advised them to make investment decisions with a global perspective, given the interconnectedness of economies.
Mr. D.M.S. Bedi, Chairman of INSPIRE, welcomed the esteemed guest speakers and presented them with bouquets in appreciation of their contributions. He also introduced Dr. Nayanika Singh and Mr. Shivdev Singh to the INSPIRE fraternity, providing a brief profile of both speakers.
The seminar concluded with an engaging Entertainment Session, where members showcased their talents through songs and other performances, adding a light-hearted touch to the event.
INSPIRE, a non-profit voluntary body of secretarial practitioners in the Tricity, was established in 1998 under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. The organization continues to provide valuable learning and networking opportunities for its members.
The seminar proved to be an enriching experience for all those involved, fostering both professional growth and community engagement.
