19 November, 2024 01:21 PM

Mohali: Amity University Punjab hosted K Siva Prasad, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor, for an enlightening session on the “Practical Aspects of the Bhagavad Gita”.

The event provided profound insights into how the Gita’s timeless teachings remain relevant in navigating modern-day challenges. Prasad engaged the audience with his deep understanding of the Gita’s philosophy, emphasising self-discipline, self-realisation and resilience.

He highlighted the importance of Karma Yoga — performing duties selflessly without attachment to results — as a guiding principle for leading a balanced and purposeful life. Stressing proactive time management, he urged attendees to take charge of their lives with foresight and determination.

He also underscored the role of Shraddha (faith) in achieving success by trusting oneself and the wisdom of spiritual teachings. Particularly impactful were his lessons tailored to youth, focusing on managing desires, self-development and cultivating patience and self-control. Prasad’s ongoing efforts to make the Gita more accessible through multilingual translations of his book were also celebrated, inspiring learners across generations.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Shivali Dhingra, Dean - Student Welfare, and a felicitation by Vice Chancellor Prof RK Kohli. This impactful session reaffirmed the Bhagavad Gita’s relevance in fostering clarity, resilience and purpose in an ever-changing world.
