06 September, 2024 07:37 PM

Chandigarh: IDP Education, the exclusive distributor for IELTS tests in India, organised its 11th annual IDP IELTS Partners Meet in Chandigarh to celebrate and felicitate the top performers of the last financial year (June 2023- July 2024). The meet saw enthusiastic participation from over 75 partner institutions, who were thrilled to be recognised for their contributions under IDP Value Partner, Premium Partner, Growth Premium Partner, and Exclusive Business Partner categories.

These top-performing partners, who enable hundreds of thousands of students from Punjab and North India each year to prepare for, and take, the IELTS exam, were felicitated by Piyush Kumar, Regional Director - South Asia and Mauritius, IDP Education, and Inderpreet Singh, Director – India IELTS Operations & South Asia Regional Lead.

Mr Piyush Kumar shared the industry insights with our IELTS partners who found it extremely valuable for their future business planning. Mr Inderpreet Singh shared his insights on how IDP IELTS is providing premium service to its test takers and some key initiatives being taken for the benefit of our test takers and IELTS partners.

IELTS is the most trusted English proficiency test globally, preferred by the test takers. IELTS scores are accepted by over 12,500 universities, colleges, employers, governments, and professional bodies worldwide for granting visas for education, work or immigration.

Last year, 4 million IELTS tests were taken worldwide by aspirants for study, work or immigration goals. IDP is constantly investing in increasing the IELTS footprint to support Indians’ ambitions for international exposure. This includes not just the expansion of the partner network but also the way the IELTS exam can be taken – in-person on paper or on the computer, or online. Recently, IDP also announced the IELTS One Skill Retake test which helps candidates improve scores in one of the four skills (Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking) if they think they did not receive their desired band, saving aspirants the cost and hassle of taking the entire test again. Further, now IELTS results are available within 2-days for IELTS on Computer and within 7-days for IELTS on paper.

Piyush Kumar, Regional Director - South Asia and Mauritius, IDP Education, said, “Punjab & Haryana are hotbeds of youngsters aspiring to study, work and live abroad, and these numbers are rising each year. While Canada, Australia and the UK remain the top destinations for aspirants from Punjab & Haryana, we are seeing an increased interest from the region in other English-speaking countries. IELTS is a gateway and a stepping-stone for all these aspirations and we as IDP are working hard with our partners across the State and region to help aspirants prepare, take and ace their IELTS exams. This includes expanding our footprint in Punjab & Haryana, the way the exam is taken, as well as expanding our global network of colleges, universities and governments who accept IELTS test scores.”

IDP IELTS is committed to strengthening partnerships and ensuring a shared vision of continued success and mutual growth for all stakeholders.
