Chandigarh : Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Dr. Ashok Tanwar has condemned the stubborn attitude of the government on talks with Sarpanchs. He has said that the Chief Minister Khattar government is insulting the people's representatives. Like a dictator, the government wants to impose its decisions on the people's representatives. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party is standing with the sarpanchs till an agreement is reached with the government. Significantly, seeing no way out in talks with the government, the sarpanches have announced to lay siege to the assembly again on March 17. He said that the BJP-JJP government has committed atrocities against every section. BJP is eroding the land of JJP in the village, that is why the government is taking away the rights from the sarpanchs. Aam Aadmi Party stands with the people's representatives of the smallest unit.
Dr. Tanwar said that serious issues can be resolved only through dialogue in a democracy. Chief Minister Khattar is not giving time to the Sarpanchs to talk. At the same time, they want to get their decisions made arbitrarily. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party is standing with the Sarpanchs since day one. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party had demanded that the government find a middle way by holding talks with the sarpanches in a democratic manner. Aam Aadmi Party will not tolerate the insult of public representatives.
He said that earlier in the name of talks, Chief Minister Khattar had done the work of lathi charge on Sarpanchs. Neither took any action against the guilty officers nor did the Chief Minister apologize. Unilateral decisions do not work in a democracy. Chief Minister Khattar should talk to the Sarpanchs and find a middle ground and agree to their demands.
