Panchkula: Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Jnan Chand Gupta has taken strong notice of officials who harass people over property ID and tax in Panchkula Municipal Corporation. In a meeting of district administration and corporation officials held on Tuesday at the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat, councilors made several serious allegations, upon which the Vish Adhyaksh ordered immediate action against the concerned officials. Along with this, a plan has been made to provide extensive training to the employees of the horticulture wing for beautification of the city. For this, contact is being made with the country's three major institutions. Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal, Municipal Commissioner Veerendra Lather and many officials and councilors were present in the meeting.
Referring to previous meetings, Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Jnan Chand Gupta said that there is a need to speed up the work of beautification of the city. He said that the cutting sides of the hedges should be straight and properly maintained. For this, he emphasized on the training of employees of the corporation's horticulture wing. The officials present in the meeting agreed with the speaker's suggestions.
The maintenance of the main roads of the city and the disappearance of the grills installed here has been noted. The Vice President suggested that the logo of the municipality should be marked on all such properties of the municipal corporation so that their whereabouts can be determined in case of disappearance. Directions were given to immediately resolve the concerns of local residents due to the new and old property IDs in the city. The Vice President said that this work should be taken seriously and checked door to door. They said that this work should be under the supervision of the concerned municipal councilors.
Ward 8 councilor Harendra Malik raised an issue regarding property tax in the village of Abhaypur. He stated that despite having all the receipts of property tax for a house, the house was not being shown on the map. When he personally searched for the property on the map, officials created many obstacles in creating an ID, to the point where online applications were cancelled. Malik accused building inspector Ram Avatar of serious allegations. He also brought up the issue of arbitrarily increasing property tax in the meeting, saying that one person's property tax was increased from 18,000 to 62,000 rupees.
In response, the Vice Chairman directed senior officials to take strict action against the accused officer. Ward 1 councilor Narendra Lubana raised the issue of illegal encroachments in the Saketari Human Colony and selling HSVP land through power of attorney. Councilor Suresh Kumar Verma raised the issue of Sector 5's incorrect ownership.
