Chandigarh, The all round performance display by Captain Amanjot Kaur helped Chandigarh to thrash Karnataka by six wickets in their inaugural match at the ongoing Women’s Senior T20 league being played at Rajkot (Gujarat) on Monday. UT girls chased down an easy target of 66 in the 17th over. Chandigarh will play their second match against Delhi on Tuesday.
Earlier, national cap Venu Krishnamurthy led Karnataka won the toss and opted to bat first. A fine bowling attack led by Amanjot Kaur (3/7) and Rajni Devi (3/31) reduced the opposition to mere 65. Unbeaten Nikki Prasad (26) was the top scorer followed by Veda Krishnamurthy (11) while Monica Patel, Akanksha Kohli and Chandu V accounted for ducks. Nandini Sharma (2/18) clinched two wickets while Kashvee Gautam (1/23) and Priyanka Guleria (1/0) consoled with one wicket each.
